- ✕ Home gel kits never last more than a week.
- ✕ UV lamps damage your nails.
- ✕ Soak-off removal weakens the nail bed.
The science of a three-week home manicure.
Three weeks of wear isn't an accident. It comes from real UV gel chemistry, an apex-curved strip that hugs the nail bed, and a lamp tuned to polymerize the resin in sixty seconds.
Below: every step, every wavelength, every misconception — explained.
Studio-tested. Salon-loved. Built to fit one tea break.
Real gel. Real wear. Receipts attached.
Independently tested. Trusted by working nail technicians. Built to outlast trend cycles — three weeks per manicure, ten thousand hours of lamp life, twelve manicures per kit.

What is UV gel, exactly?
UV gel is a liquid acrylate resin that hardens — polymerizes — when exposed to a specific wavelength of UV light. Unlike regular polish (which dries by evaporation), gel cures into a single durable layer that bonds chemically to the nail surface.
Once cured, it's water-proof, oil-proof, and abrasion-resistant for up to three weeks. Real salons have used UV gel since the 1980s; we've packaged it into pre-shaped strips you can apply at home.
Why it holds for three weeks.
Three reasons. One — chemistry. Fully-cured methacrylates form long-chain polymers that don't break down under daily wear.
Two — surface. Our primer micro-etches the nail's natural keratin, creating mechanical bonding underneath the chemical bond.
Three — strip shape. Pre-formed to the apex curvature of a natural nail, so the seal stays unbroken at the cuticle and the free edge — the two places ordinary gel lifts first.
The cure spectrum, explained.
Different photoinitiators in the gel respond to different wavelengths. Our lamp emits two — a 365 nm UVA peak for deep cure, and a 405 nm violet peak for surface lock. Together they harden the gel evenly in sixty seconds. No tacky finish, no soft underlayer.
Myth vs Real
- ✓ With real UV gel chemistry, home kits hold three weeks of wear on average — independently tested on 1,200 hands across the EU.
- ✓ LED-UV at 48W with timed 60-second pulses sits well within dermatological safety thresholds. Non-ionizing. No UVB.
- ✓ Acetone-based soak-off in our wraps removes the gel without filing or buffing. Eight minutes. No nail thinning.
